Frequently Asked Questions

We recommend dedicating at least 5 hours per week to mentoring activities, including one-on-one sessions, reviewing assignments, and participating in the mentor community. However, the exact time commitment can be flexible based on your availability and the needs of your mentees.

New mentors typically start with 2-3 mentees to ensure a manageable workload. As you become more comfortable with the mentoring process, you can request to take on additional mentees if desired. We aim to maintain a balance that allows for quality mentorship while respecting your time constraints.

Mentor compensation is based on a combination of factors, including the number of mentees, mentee progress and completion rates, and mentee feedback. Payments are processed monthly, and detailed information about the compensation structure is provided during the mentor onboarding process.

To become a NaijaCodes mentor, you should have at least 2 years of professional experience in your field of expertise, strong communication skills, and a passion for teaching and mentoring. Specific technical qualifications vary by track, but you should be proficient in the technologies you'll be teaching.
